AVOID CHARGEBACKS

KPW Service Association, Inc. is dedicated to providing quality services at affordable prices.  We are a not-for-profit member organization. To keep our plan prices low, it is important that we each do our part. We do our best to make sure calls are answered promptly, scheduled quickly, and work is done well. Each plan has certain benefits, and certain limitations. All plans have exclusions.  

Each time our vendor makes a service call, KPW is charged for that call, even if it was for something not covered, such as user error, or repair due to lack of routine maintenance, such as cleaning your dryer vent or changing your a/c filter.  To be fair to all our members, those types of calls, which are excluded in your agreement, will be charged back to the member. 

Our office staff will do what it can to help prevent an unnecessary call by asking what you might think of as simple or even silly questions, such as, is it plugged in, did you check the breaker, can you read what the thermostat says.  You may get a bit frustrated at the questions, but if a technician goes out, and you simply have your thermostat turned to the wrong setting, KPW will get a bill from the vendor, and KPW will in turn send the member a bill for the service call. 

You too can do things to help prevent unnecessary calls and chargebacks.  

1. Read your plan details, know what is and isn’t covered
2. Read the exclusions so you aren’t caught off guard by a chargeback
3. Do your routine maintenance, change your filters routinely, have your dryer vent cleaned out regularly, etc.
4. Read your owner manuals
5. Check your warranties

We want to send someone out if your covered item is BROKEN. To be fair to all our members, it isn’t right for them to subsidize a call due to misuse, abuse, operator error, or lack of routine maintenance that created a problem.  We don’t want to chargeback any of our members, and YOU don’t want to pay for them, so please read the provided tip sheets BEFORE YOU CALL!
